A color that shouldn't exist

This place reminds us that is that most places can't be like this because we've already touched them, already extracted from them, already decided their value in economic rather than ecological. Banff is a gift of wilderness that survived, a reminder of a blue and green in the world looked like before we learned to commodify every landscape. But it's also a mirror, reflecting back what we've lost everywhere else, and what we're still losing.
